How about we start the tips with a tour of Peneda-Gerês National Park?! Know that it is the only Portuguese protected area classified as a National Park. A true natural paradise that gives us tranquillity and provides incredible relaxation. Here, you will also find the baths to retemper the soul and delight in the local cuisine, such as roast veal and veal chops. Don't forget to take home honey, cookies, tea, liqueurs, cheeses and cornbread. It's worth it!
Remember to visit the submerged village of Vilarinho das Furnas, climb to the Miradouro da Pedra Bela and let yourself be delighted by the landscape of Gerês. Also visit the spike trees of Aldeia do Soajo, classified in 1983 as Property of Public Interest and climb to Castelo do Lindoso, built in the Middle Ages.
Regarding the cities, Braga, Guimarães and Viana do Castelo, these portray the main points of the region, with the first shining through the Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary.
A World Heritage Site, Guimarães played a crucial role in the formation of Portugal and is therefore a city of compulsory passage. Viana do Castelo is characterised by architecture, history and traditions, among which we highlight the Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Agony.
