CASCAIS | Palacete Seixas

Palacete Seixas in Cascais. Amazing, right?! Symbol of the city of Cascais, this palace is also known as the Seixas building, after the name of the owner, Henrique Seixas, who later donated it. As we researched in the Cultural Heritage, in 1916 the aristocrat Henrique Maufroy de Seixas made a request to the Municipality of Cascais to build a small palace on the site of the former Forte de Santa Catarina, presenting a project designed by Norte Júnior. The property would be fully completed in the early 30s.

Moving a little away from the models of his eclectic palaces in Parisian taste, the architect opted for a more historicist line, of medieval inspiration, taking advantage of the proximity of the sea to give the building the imposing scenography that made it a fundamental element in the urban line of the bay. of Cascais.
