Write down this #supertip!!!! ➡️ “ETIQUETTE”- A NEW WAY OF LIVING THE THEATRE (@etiquette_lisbon). A piece that can be experienced and shared with someone we have already met or with a stranger.
From September 1 to November 15, 2022, you will be able to participate in the new immersive digital play theatrical performance.
A Self-theatre experience* for two people, amazing!!! When we got to the Bowls Bar (@Bowlsbar), We found a table already prepared with some small objects and two headphones. All we need to do is follow the voice on the headphones (or is it the voice in the head?). Then we close our eyes, take a deep breath, then open our eyes for the experience to begin! One of the scenarios is where we find ourselves sitting in a crowded cafe on a table for two and we see a stranger in front of us. The curious thing is that it is possible to interact only according to the provided script.
How do we feel, restrained or comfortable? And you, how would you feel?!
This immersive digital performance project was founded by Ant Hampton and Silvia Mercuriali. A success already enshrined in New York, London, Moscow among other cities around the world, such as Germany, Norway, Italy.
WHAT IS THE AUTOTHEATRO?
The spectators themselves interpret the play presenting to each other. The dynamics are simple: participants each receive the pair of headphones and start receiving instructions through audio, visual tips or text on what to do or say. With a simple follow-up of these instructions, an event begins to unfold.
This dynamic of reviving the theatrical experience was first developed by Ant and Silvia specifically for a show "ETIQUETTE" in 2007, when it premiered in London, under the name of the company Rotozaza (https://rotozaza.co.uk). Foi muito bem recebido pela critica na altura, inclusive o artigo de opinião na New York Times. Since then, "ETIQUETTE" has been translated into 17 languages and presented in more than 22 countries around the world.
THE PIECE
It exposes human communication in its crudest and most delicate form and explores the difficulty of transforming our thoughts into words that we can trust. A young woman and an old man guide the participants in the various microsituations, often taken from the cinema or theatre, in which the private worlds shared between two people divide and transform incessantly.
The show offers the fantasy of talking to someone without having to plan what to say, which results in a satisfactory emotion of living experience in a real-life abstraction, without taking responsibility for the situation presented in a performance.
"Tonight is the protagonist in the play... he is about to enter the plan, but is paralysed by stage fear".
The conversation is shown as a kind of theatre in which the roles of 'public' and 'actor' are assumed and exchanged imperceptibly.
