FLIGHTS FROM BRAZIL TO PORTUGAL - CLARIFICATION

The Embassy of Portugal published a clarification note on December 1, 2021, in which it clarifies questions asked to Portuguese consular services in Brazil. These questions suggest that the Portuguese air borders would close to passengers from Brazil, as of December 1, 2021. This is not true.

Passengers from Brazil may continue to travel to Portugal, for any reason (including tourism), as has been the case since September 1st, as long as they present a negative COVID test (PCR or rapid antigen test, carried out, respectively, within 72 or 48 hours prior to the time of boarding).

The only change refers to passengers with a COVID Digital Vaccination Certificate from the EU (generally Portuguese and other European nationalities) who were exempt from taking the COVID test and who will now have to take it as well.

This change does not affect, therefore, the vast majority of passengers who fly from Brazil to Portugal.
