Talking about school options for husbands, one of the necessary documents is the famous Letter of Motivation.
And that question arose!!! How will I make a Motivation Letter? What would that be? Wow, I never did! How to make?
Most people, like me, panic as soon as they discover that the motivation letter is one of the prerequisites for a selection process, whether for an exchange or for a new job. In my search for information, some sites told us not to be worried, rather to celebrate!
“But why should I be happy?” I wonder. It is already quite challenging to do something that we are not used to, imagine seeing/doing a Motivation Letter where it is not part of our customs. I wonder, "What are they looking to see in this letter?!" And looking for answers on the internet, I find the following: “because this will probably be one of the few opportunities (if not the only one) for you to show all your good points and all the reasons why you deserve that job. It's our chance to talk more about yourself, to go beyond the information in our curriculum.”
That's why I realized that: NEVER (and I said never, never, under any circumstances!) we should use the standard internet letters, that is, those that the agent downloads and only fills in with our name and some of our data.
The problem is that if we copy it, it will be the same for everyone, that is, taking away some information, the cards will always be very similar, and it will be just one more card similar to the others. In other words, the agent ends up losing one of the only chances to make the person he selects know more about us, to stand out. Let's not let that happen to us, okay? As difficult as it is, let's not miss this opportunity.
That's why each card is “personal and non-transferable”, so let's really take care of ours!
However, trying to write a letter to learn, inspired by some that I saw on the internet, I realized that it takes some work to be written, because it needs to contain a lot of information and, at the same time, be succinct. I easily lost my train of thought. From my own experience I suggest following a structure. Making further inquiries on the internet, I found the following suggestion: introduce us, contextualize the reader (briefly explaining our life journey focusing on facts that have to do with the selection process and thus justifying the choice of the course we are enrolling in), let's report on our expectations for the future and most importantly, tell us what we are going to do with this experience; we must conclude by thanking the reader for his attention.
But beware, in some cases, a RECOMMENDATION LETTER is also requested. The letter of recommendation is usually optional, but all help to get you a postgraduate or master's degree is valid, so if you have a professor who can recommend you as a good student/researcher, it will be very useful.
Ahhh!! After all, we haven't completed our Motivation Letter yet! But before we leave Brazil, we are already asking our teachers for a Letter of Recommendation.
