PORT | Let's talk about Porto?!

Porto, a beautiful city to delight the eyes. It is the second city and the fourth most populous municipality in Portugal. The city that gave Portugal its name – from a very early age (c. 200 BC), when it was called Portus Cale, later becoming the capital of the Portucalense County, from which Portugal was formed. It is also a city known worldwide for its wine, its bridges and contemporary and ancient architecture, its historic centre, classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, for the quality of its restaurants and its gastronomy, for its main public university: the University of Porto, placed among the 200 best universities in the world and among the 100 best universities in Europe, as well as for the quality of its hospital centers, among others.

With all this history we decided to travel to meet her. We also consider residing in it. We combine useful and pleasant, let's get to know a UNESCO heritage as well as evaluate the possibility of living there!

What do we think?! Many, many more hills! It has transport, easily accessible, I believe. Due to where we stayed, we do not use transport. We walked a lot, when not, we took Uber.

The city itself, warm. Friendly people and well communicative.

Accommodation

We stayed at the Hotel Eurostars Porto Douro. Despite being well located, not so close to the busiest region of Porto. But still close to Vila de Gaia. We would say about 20 minutes, maybe less, of walking.

How to get

We went to Porto by train. We picked up at Santa Apolónia Station and the trip took approximately 2h 35min. But you can also take the train from Oriente Station. The other option is to go by car, bus or plane.

When purchasing your ticket online on the Rede Expressos website, you get discounts. Today the ticket for one person is €20. There are trains leaving from 6:30am until 8:30pm.

Valuable tip, be careful with your belongings, on this route we took, unfortunately I was stolen.
