For higher education equivalence, Portuguese universities require that the Brazilian school record has the signatures recognised in a Brazilian registry office and be authenticated through the Hague Apostille in Brazil. They also require, in addition to the history, the diploma and program of duly authenticated subjects. I have the Administration course in addition to MBA and Specialisation, my husband has the course in Electrical Engineering and Production Engineering. We will request equivalence at the Portuguese university that has our courses and is equivalent to our training. Because Brazil has acceded to the Hague Convention, the authentication of the document is done through the Hague Apostille in Brazilian registry offices authorised to authenticate. These authentications must be made before we leave Brazil, because they cannot be done already in Portugal. The Hague Apostille has no expiration date and does not extend the validity of the apostille documents. I believe that in general universities also request the declaration of grade scale (or minimum grade) relative to our Brazilian school record, because the grades in Brazil are different from the grades in Portugal. The Embassy of Brazil will make, free of charge, the declaration based on the information contained in our history. In this case, we can contact you by going directly to the Educational Cooperation Sector of the Embassy of Brazil in Lisbon or by e-mail (educacional@embaixadadobrasil.pt), carrying our copies of the school record, diploma and professional records. If we go in person, the time for public service is Monday to Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There's no need to schedule an appointment. We must not forget that if this request is by email, we have to inform our full address so that they send the original declaration by mail, and best of all, at no cost. See you later!
